Sony adds another version to their handheld digital cinema camera line : the PXW-FS5 XDCAM.
Smaller and lighter the FS5 uses a similar Super 35 sensor as the other cinema cameras with 14 stops of dynamic range.
Handheld operation is easily-manageable as the balanced chassis configured to shoot from high to low angles thanks to a flexible, rotatable grip and a LCD viewfinder that can be mounted in no less than nine locations.
It is particularly suited for low light shooting (since it offers the possibility to go up to 32,000 ISO) and also for productions that needs a super high frame rate camera (slow motion can go up to 960fps in 1080p).
The FS5 also features an ergonomic handgrip which offers Zoom, Recording & Assign controls and built-in electronic ND filters providing an efficient and easily manageable production workflow for full crews or single operators productions.
