Historical manufacturer dedicated to video zoom, Fujinon integrates with the Cabrio range all its optical and ergonomic expertise in Super35 lenses with PL mount.
Besides an excellent optical quality and high resolution to take full advantage of the new 4K cameras, the Cabrio lenses bring new ergonomics to PL zooms. They all have a "ENG Style" servo unit which drive the focus and zoom rings (the iris being driven internally)
This handle will be highly appreciated for shoulder work. The operators can enjoy the servo control to perform smooth zoom moves. Industry standard wired unit can also be used, camera operators will then be able to control the zoom and focus while continuing to frame properly.
This servo unit can be removed, however, freeing the rings of the lens whose standard 0.8mm drive gear allows to use accessories usually found with cinema cameras.
With their similar design, these lenses are used perfectly together. They’re very useful for multi-camera sets or shooting special events, allowing for the same image style on wide shots and close ups.
Combining the 14-35mm, 19-90mm and 85-300mm, it’s possible to go on a documentary with only those three zooms and cover all necessary plans, either very wide shots, medium focal lengths for much of the film and interviews, up to very long lenses for distant subjects or close-ups.
The Cabrio have a flange back adjustment, as on TV zooms with B4 mount. In addition to allowing correct optical flange back if ever it changes after prolonged use, this ring can also be used to switch to Macro mode to shoot at close range.
Five zooms are available:
- 14-35mm T2.9
- 19-90mm T2.9
- 85-300mm T2.9 (up to 218mm, then T4 at 300mm)
- 25-300mm T3.5
- 20-120mm T3.5
