The 5/i series allows to find the well-know “Cooke Look” and its high standard in High Speed lenses, with a minimum of diaph T1.4 throughout the series.
Even at full aperture, the lenses maintain this specific Cooke feel, with a soft and warm picture, taking advantage of this wide aperture to further emphasize the subject. Without compromising this nice cinematic style, the Cooke 5/i maintain good resistance to flare and benefit from an excellent correction of geometric distortion and chromatic aberration even in situations of high contrast.
In terms of ergonomics, the design remains consistent throughout the series and the technology already existing in the S4 provides an expanded focus scale without any stiffness. The 5/i series introduces however internally illuminated speed and focus ring, enabling the camera assistant to keep an excellent view of the focus marks even in very low light situations for which this series was designed.
Sharing the same "Cooke Look" that the other series of the British brand, 5/i lenses will fit perfectly with the S4/i series for sequences requiring superior brightness.
The "/ i" indicates that the lenses integrate a communication system within the mount to record focus and aperture metadata on compatible cameras.
